Honor America and its past by visiting the National Museum of American History. The Museum collects and preserves more than 3 million national treasures. Artifacts represent all aspects of American life, from politics to popular culture. Items that are currently on display include the original Star-Spangled Banner and Abraham Lincoln's top hat, to Dizzy Gillespie's angled trumpet and Dorothy's ruby slippers from the "Wizard of Oz." In addition to its current exhibits, visitors are welcome to visit the Museum's Archive Center, which stores a wide collection of important documents, photographs, and printed items from American history.
