Portland Art Museum Parking
The Portland Museum of Art, located in the cultural heart of Portland, has the distinction of being the largest and oldest public art institution in Maine. PMA showcases extensive and comprehensive collections including traditional and contemporary art, visual art movements displaying Realism and Cubison selections as well as American and European collections dating back to 1882.
It’s not just scholars who flock to the Homer Winslow Studio, a registered National Historic Landmark. First exhibited in 1893, Homer’s work captivates audiences who appreciate the marine masterpieces of the preeminent American landscape painter.
A contemporary print collection of Expressionist graphics and a photography collection of international and local Maine photographers documents the history of the medium rounding out the pictorial art of Portland from the 18th century through today.
