The Rose F. Kennedy Greenway is a mile-long ribbon of contemporary parks running from South to North in Downtown Boston. The green passageway is made up of five different parks including: the Chinatown Park, Dewey Square Park, Fort Point Channel Parks, Wharf District Parks, and the North End Parks. Each area has its own unique things to see, do, and eat. For example, the Wharf District Parks plaza between Milk and India Streets features the "Light Blades," twelve vertical glass and steel sculptures that illuminate the area with 16.7 million different colors and patterns at varying speeds and intensity. Temporary art installations and exhibitions are also displayed throughout the greenway. The urban green space is also a popular gathering place for families and young children to learn and play outdoors. The greenway often sponsors hand on lessons on horticulture for all to enjoy. Rose F. Kennedy is also a great stop for casual dining. Visitors can bring their own lunch and have a picnic, or try out one of the many food trucks and vendors that are located off of the greenway.
